			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Does drinking water help you lose weight?  Let&#8217;s explore that question in detail.  The short answer is yes, but it is important to also know the reason why drinking water helps you lose weight.</p>
<p>Water is extremely important to the human body and overall health.  In addition to drinking water to help you lose weight, you should also drink water just to be more healthy.  A dehydrated body does not perform as well as a properly hydrated body, and this is true for all aspects of the body, including the ability to burn fat.</p>
<p>When looking to lose weight, burning fat is of utmost importance.  The organ that is responsible for metabolizing your fat is the liver.  The liver has a number of jobs, but our goal is to maximize the livers ability to metabolize your fat.  Another part of this conversation is the kidneys.  They are responsible for filtering toxins.  In order to work properly, the kidneys need plenty of water.</p>
<p>Think about this; the kidneys filter about 200 quarts of blood, to filter out about 2 quarts of toxins, each day.  That&#8217;s a lot of filtration, and it happens every day!</p>
<p>If there is not enough water in your body for your kidneys to function at their highest level of efficiency, the kidneys need to enlist help to do their job.  Where do they get this help?  From the liver.</p>
<p>So in a body with not enough water, you have the liver helping the kidneys do their job.  With the liver taking on extra work (and it&#8217;s already a pretty busy organ), it is not able to work at full capacity for it&#8217;s normal jobs.  If you are trying to lose weight, you want the liver to concentrate on metabolizing fat, not filtering toxins.  How do you make it do this?  Simple, by drinking more water.</p>
<p>Drinking more water by itself will not likely be the cure all, but it is a great step in the right direction to help you lose weight.  By drinking more water, you will likely boost your metabolism, which we all know is the key to true weight loss.</p>

Drink more water and less juice and soda, and you will be cutting out calories that are not beneficial.  Even diet soda should be replaced with water.
