It is a most common disorder of the skin and is termed “acne”. A common type of acne is termed “Acne Vulguris”

It is a disease of sebaceous glands. It develops in stages. It starts with whiteheads and blackheads and can eventually turn into cysts and nodules. Though it is a skin condition, it is strongly connected to psychology of the person. The disfigurement of skin has a strong connection with the emotions of the person. This makes a good reason for treating it as early as possible.

How Acne Develops

Before knowing about the treatment of acne it would be good to have an idea about the skin. The sebaceous glands are found on the skin of our whole body except at some places like soles and palms. Sebum is produced by sebaceous glands and comes on the surface of the skin through pores. The body hair also grows from the same pores. Sometimes these pores get blocked because of dead cells or excessive oil production. When the pores get blocked it gives room to produce acne bacteria which then develops into acne.

In earlier stages acne appears as blackheads or whiteheads. Blackheads are also termed “open comedones’ whereas whiteheads are termed “closed condemones”.

The next stage of acne is zits or pimples. These zits and pimples are termed pustules and papules. Pimples appear when there is an inflammation in the sebaceous glands. If the infection is left untreated it spreads further and results in the third acne stage. This appears in the form of nodules and cysts.

Acne does not always enter the third stage. Sometimes it may stop itself at the first or the second stage.

Where Acne Develops

Acne can develop wherever there are sebaceous glands. As mentioned earlier they are spread all over the body except at the palms and soles. But as they are attached to hair follicles they mainly are found on the face, neck, shoulders, back, chest and arms. Acne is most common in these places.

Who develops acne

Mostly teenagers are the sufferers. But acne can catch a person at any stage. Sometimes it even affects the person at the age of thirty and forty and is termed “adult acne” sometimes newborns or toddlers can be the victim. Here it is termed ‘baby acne”

Whatever the age is; if acne is treated at early stages it can rightly prevent the skin from entering the severe third stage. The early treatment also prevents the formation of acne scars; which is even a bigger issue than acne itself.

This acne blog series has been focusing on acne treatments and causes. This acne treatment blog post is going to look at some simple things you can do to prevent acne from developing in the first place.

Clean your face

This may sound simple and straightforward, but really, take the time to clean your face properly every day. Most acne blogs suggest this, so will your physician and others, but you would be surprised how many people suffer from acne but don’t take the time to clean their face every day.

Use warm water and mild cleansers, and clean your face everyday, multiple times a day. When you wake up, before bed, during the day. A good tip is to get in the habit of cleaning your face every time you go to the bathroom. Try it for a couple weeks and you’ll notice a change.

Exfoliate your skin

Take good care of your skin, and you are going to have less acne. Take a look at our Get Rid of Acne Fast post to remind yourself what causes acne. Once you do, you will realize that by exfoliating your skin, you will remove the dead skin and other debris. These debris contribute to clogged pores, which (we all know from reading our acne blog) cause acne. Exfoliating scrubs are sold at your local store, are not very expensive, and will really help in preventing acne. Try exfoliating for a couple weeks and see the difference.

Drink plenty of water

Good for your health, good for your skin. Don’t overdo it, but be sure to drink plenty of water. Many acne treatment blogs gloss over this really important prevention technique. It is easy, healthy, and it helps the body work properly. Substitute water for soda, most people drink way too much soda. Not only will you feel better, but your skin will thank you as well.

I prefer preventing the acne to trying to treat it. There are so many preventive measures you can take, natural measures, that I could fill a whole slew of acne blogs with the information. Give a few of these easy and natural ideas a try, and see how they can help your acne clear up.

For more natural, holistic ways to prevent acne, take a look at this holistic acne treatment. Acne no more is the only effective holistic method to becoming acne free that I am aware of. The techniques and the results seem outstanding. In addition they will give you 60 risk free days to put their methods to use. It is a unique method and they will show you how to cure your acne. Check them out, and check back in with us, we will be posting more acne treatment blog postings in the very near future!

Does toothpaste get rid of pimples? What a question, who would have ever thought of using toothpaste on pimples?

Nevertheless, toothpaste for pimples seems to be a common pimple home remedy, and one that I can tell you has worked for me. In my teenage years, I had my fair share of pimples, chin pimples were my main enemy. I tried a number of home remedies, and truly the best one for getting rid of pimples overnight was toothpaste on the pimples.

I’m not exactly sure what it is about toothpaste and pimples that makes it work, but it does. It seems to dry the skin, and often times makes a huge difference overnight.

It is best to apply just a bit of toothpaste to the pimples right before bed. Rub it in lightly so it forms a thin film. Then go to bed with your toothpaste and pimples. When you wake up, you will have a dried out pimple, sometimes with a thin crust of toothpaste on it still. Take a warm washcloth and gently wash the toothpaste off.

With a little luck, the toothpaste pimple cure will have done the trick. At the very least, it should reduce the severity of your pimple.

Now don’t go jumping for joy here, this is no magic cure by any means. Toothpaste on pimples does work, but not all the time, it seems to be a bit hit and miss. Also, I don’t know that I would recommend using this trick for large areas, it is kind of a spot remover. If you are looking for pimple home remedies, though, this is one I have tried and can say it does work for me.

Does toothpaste get rid of pimples? My verdict is yes.

How to get rid of acne fast, a very typical question for anyone suffering from acne. But what are the best acne treatments, maybe you want to know how to get rid of back acne, is that different than trying to get rid of nose acne or face acne?

There are many remedies that claim to show you how to get rid of acne fast. You can walk into a supermarket and find a number of products that claim to work, but which one is right for you? Is there a cure-all that will get rid of back acne, nose acne, face acne – for everyone?

Before looking at how to get rid of acne fast, let’s look at what causes acne.

Acne starts to form with the sebaceous glands, which are under the surface of the skin. These glands release oils through the pores of your skin, which helps to protect your skin. It is when this sebaceous oil is blocked from reaching the surface of the skin that you develop acne. The oil gets trapped, puss develops and it increases in size.

During puberty, your body is producing more hormones, causing your skin to produce more oil. The more oil your sebaceous glands are producing, the easier it is for your pores to get blocked. The more pores that get blocked, the more acne you develop.

How to Get Rid of Acne Fast

There are a number of ways to get rid of acne, some faster than others.

Often times, the best course of action is to simply leave things alone. Acne may clear up in a couple days time. By not popping pimples, you will save yourself from risk of leaving a permanent scar.

If you want to be pro-active, however, there are some tips to help speed the time up to rid yourself of acne. Gently pat your face (or have someone help you if taking care of back acne) with a warm damp towel. This will help to open the pores that are blocked. It also helps to draw out the toxic material that is building up under the skin.

Lightly scrubbing with the warm damp cloth will also help get rid of the acne. Over the counter medications can also be applied topically and can be highly effective.

If you are looking for a better way on how to get rid of acne fast, the best and fastest way to accomplish that is to prevent the acne from forming in the first place. Knowing a little about how and why acne forms is a good tool in accomplishing that fact.

If you are interested in some tried and true ways to get rid of acne fast, I suggest taking a look at this book, Acne Free in 3 Days. This book has been featured on FOX, CBS, ABC and numerous other TV shows. Check it out, the site also offers free secrets to clearing your skin.
